I paid the dealer to work on my car.
I’m sorry, I’ll do five hail Miata’s and three Ford V6 mustangs.
But new brakes are nice, and there was no way I was getting this task done this weekend without sacrificing our last weekend of skiing.

I pay people to do things I’m capable of too sometimes. Time saved is more valuable than the money spent sometimes.

I love paying people to do shit I don’t want to, eespecially if I trust them and they do it right.

I have a confession as well. I love those wheels

There is a price for everything. It can be in time or money or both. You just decide what you’ll pay and in what currency.

...sometimes.

Woooo there, slow down that is quite an admission. Let’s take this one step at a time.

Meh, I do it on my Outback too. Sometimes you just don’t have the time to source parts and devote hours to trying to figure it out.
Unless it’s an oil change, then...why are you on Oppo?

I have done everything on my Mazda for the last 6 years.

Sometimes I don’t have time for lunch which sometimes makes me poorly construct words sometimes because of the sometimes hunger

LOL I wasn’t even trying to poke fun at the redundancy. (In fact, I didn’t even notice it until now.) Nah, I was just expressing how reluctant I am to let other people touch my car.

I take my CRV to Honda, our dealer is pretty cool and they have a drop off check in, fantastic waiting room with coffee and teas if it’s just a fluid change or small thing, wash and vacuum, awesome shuttle in comfy Odyssey. I do some things myself and the parts manager is a nice guy who knows everything. I bought the car from an old lady who went there, old lady low miles Hondas are very good buys, her whole history is there and they even did the airbag recall for me because she ordered it before she sold it.

Some jobs piss me off now and I don’t have a lift or tons of tools to make it easier... Plus I live in a condo and I can’t at home. My friend owns a shop and works on my old cars, the dealer does do my Honda, I don’t touch computer cars...

I like our local dealer and with the car still under warranty i prefer to have them do the work most of the time.

Ever since the dealer quoted me $140 per hour for labour... I’ve not been back. Now an independent shop sees them when required.

Oh that’s too much.

Last time I went to the dealer, it cost me $42 for oil/filter change(6qts), driveshaft lube/torque, and tire rotation. Basically 0 in labor.

Oh man I know them feels.
